Ultra Rare 0.60 Cts Natural Musgravite, Collector's Grade Gem

This 0.60 ct natural musgravite shows a deep smoky gray appearance with soft mauve-pink reflections visible across its facets in the photographs. Its elegant oval shape and combined brilliant and step faceting create silvery flashes against darker tones, giving the stone a distinctive, understated beauty. Measuring 6.48 × 4.51 × 2.86 mm, this rare collector’s gemstone is accompanied by a report from the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT), identifying it as natural musgravite. Musgravite is an exceptionally rare magnesium–beryllium–aluminium oxide gemstone closely related to taaffeite. Named after the Musgrave Ranges of South Australia, where it was first discovered, it is prized by collectors for the scarcity of crystals suitable for faceting. With a Mohs hardness of 8–8.5, it offers considerable scratch resistance. Its similarity to taaffeite makes advanced laboratory testing, such as Raman spectroscopy or X-ray diffraction, essential for reliable identification.
